Hello there!
You know how we sometimes get ‘fila’ about some men of God? Well, I recently heard a rather unpleasant story about a very well-known and respected man of God who attempted to sleep with a certain young lady while she went for counselling in his office.
According to the young lady, when she refused and threatened to report him, he was like 'nobody will believe you, I'm a well-respected man of God'
Now, I have no proof whether this is true or false but ever since then, I have been skeptical about the said man. This news has affected my perception about him to the extent that whenever I see his picture, hear his name or his voice, I instantly dismiss him.
Well not too long ago, while I was scrolling through Facebook to get my usual dose of daily inspiration I came across a very positive quote that touched my heart. As soon as I lifted my finger to ‘Like’ it, I realized the quote was said by this ‘Opana’. Guess what the hypocrite in me did! Yes, I scrolled past it! That was when it occurred to me that I was judging this man based on what I heard. Shame on you Ama, I thought. So what if it is true? Is he not human? So does the word of God change because it is spoken by a 'lying' man of God?
Isn't it ridiculous that we judge so easily forgetting that we are all full of faults? We expect others to be perfect Christians when we ourselves ask for forgiveness everyday because we fall into sin every now and then. We are all saved by grace; no one is perfect!
A friend once told me 'do not despise inspired messages'. It doesn't matter who is sharing, if it is from God and is meant to bless you, then receive it.
May God have mercy on us and forgive our hypocritical ways.
Be fabulous, not judgemental.
Happy New Year!!!
