Ghanaian entrepreneurs won three prestigious awards at the West African edition of the Ernst and Young (EY) World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards held in Lagos, Nigeria on Friday night February 5, 2016.
Founder and MD of Kinapharma Limited, Kofi Nsiah-Poku, won the Emerging Entrepreneur Award, beating four other Nigerians to the title.
Also, in the Master Entrepreneur category, Founder and Chairman of local beverages maker – Kasapreko Limited – Kwabena Adjei, beat three other contenders to win the title.
He beat MD of Niche Cocoa Processing, Mr Edmund Poku, and two other Nigerian finalists.
The two awards were competed for whilst a third one presented to Sir Sam Jonah was the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The World Entrepreneur of the Year Award programme was created by EY to recognize the accomplishments of entrepreneurs around the globe.
It builds on EY's many years of success in running Entrepreneur Of The Year Award programmes in more than 60 countries around the world.
Each year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year country winners join together in Monaco to be inducted into the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame and vie for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year title.
The programme aims at recognising the world’s most successful and innovative entrepreneurs by identifying and recognising their outstanding achievements within successful growing of dynamic businesses.
