Herbalife Ghana, a leading nutritional company in the country and official nutritional partner of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko football club has hosted the players at the company’s premise at the Spintex in Accra.
The players of the country’s premier league were cheered by football fans on there arrival.
They were led by the CEO of the club, Opoku Nti, head coach David Duncan,, Operations Manager, George Kenedy and few management members.
The team was received by the country Director of Herbalife, Frederick Amissah.
The program which was the first of its kind since the company signed a two-year nutritional sponsorship deal with the club last year was to provide nutritional needs of the team.
It offered the players the opportunity to interact with the management of the company and also familiarized themselves with the company’s wide range of products.
The deal which is the company’s first and biggest sponsorship for a local football club forms part of its efforts to introduce the company’s high quality nutritional products to the sporting community and to improve the health of sports men and women in the country.
Mr Frederick Amissah urged the technical handlers go beyond natural ability of the players but apply nutrition and sports science which play a key role in modern sports.
He was of the view that Ghanaian and African sports only rely only on their natural abilities and therefore lack stamina as compare to their foreign counterpart who take nutrition serious.
He noted that African sports men are naturally endowed to perform well but with the application of sports scientists and nutritionists player fitness can be improved.
He however advised the players to be disciplined and committed to the club and also listen to the coach, administrators and senior players to direct them.
He appealed to the team to train hard in order to win the cup this season and also qualify for the African cup.
Captain of the team Stephen Oduro promised the team’s readiness to win the cup this season.
The company won the ‘’Innovative Foreign Products of the year award organized by the West African Regional Magazine in Nigeria last year while its country director Mr. Frederick Amissah won the coveted ‘’Marketing Person of the Year Award.
The company’s success story is based on how it positioned itself to help address both the nutritional and economic situation of Ghanaians and beyond.
The company’s operations in Ghana, the only country in West Africa, began in December 2011 as a direct selling/network marketing company with the responsibility for product sales & distribution, sales support and marketing, portfolio management & innovation, training and motivation in synergy with our over 8000 plus network of independent direct members and customers.
The company has a well-established mission which aims to change people’s lives by providing the best nutrition and weight-management products in the world and the best business opportunity in direct selling.
