For carnally knowing a 20-year-old girl without her consent, Eric Tetteh, 20, a driver's mate has been remanded at the Akuse Prisons by the Odumase Krobo Circuit court, presided over by Mr Asmah Akwasi Asiedu.The facts as presented by Detective Chief Inspector Isaac Teye Kwame were that the complainant is an unemployed person staying with her sister at Salosi, a suburb of Somanya. The accused, however lives at Sainya, another suburb of Somanya.According to the prosecutor, on May. 7, 20 I 0 at about 7:30 p.m., the accused in the company of one of his friends met the complainant at Somanya roundabout.The accused person's friend, according to the prosecutor, called the complainant by signalling because they did not know each other. The complainant responded but the accused person's friend told the complainant that he was sorry and that she resembled someone he knew.Chief Inspector Teye Kwame said that the complainant was about to leave when the accused called her and told her that his sister in Accra was in dire need of four sales girls so he wanted to know whether she was interested.He said that the complainant, who was also desirous of getting a job, accepted it whole-heartedly and gave the young man directions to where she stays. She even added that one of her sisters would also be interested since both of them were jobless.Inspector Teye Kwame said the next morning, the accused person traced the complainant to her home and met her and her other sister.After a short conversation, the prosecutor said that the complainant and her sister demanded the cell phone number of the accused person's sister who was in Accra but he told them that he had left his mobile phone at home and that the complainant should follow him to collect it.The prosecutor said, the complainant obliged but when they got to the accused person's house, there were some school children watching film in the accused person's room.The prosecutor added that as if on cue, all the schoolchildren including one of his friends left the room.Chief Inspector Teye Kwame said the accused later closed the door and demanded sex from the complainant. He attempted kissing her but the complainant rather responded with a bite on his lips.The accused, according to the prosecutor told her that once he was a man he could do whatever he wanted and that it would be in the complainant's own interest to humble herself for him to do his own thing.True to his words, the prosecutor said that the accused person struggled with her, removed her panties and succeeded in having sexual intercourse with the complainant without her consent.The complainant later went to her village at Klo-Agogo and informed her rather, who asked her to report the incident to the police for investigation."The complainant's sister later lured the accused person to Akuse where he was arrested.Source: The Mirror
