A girls’ dormitory of Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS) in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital, was destroyed by fire on Thursday evening.
The fire started at around 7pm when the students were at prep, destroying almost all the belongings of the female students.
Some of the students had to spend the night at teachers’ quarters, while others slept in classrooms, according Eastern Regional Correspondent, Kofi Siaw.
About ten traumatised students have been admitted at the St Joseph’s Hospital in Effiduase.
It took fire-fighters hours to put out the consuming fire.
The cause of the fire is yet to the determined but the Ghana National Fire Service has commenced investigations into the incident.
