Contrary to rumors that Glo Ghana is gradually packing out of the country, the company said it will soon open new GloWorld Shops across the country in place of the ones it recently closed down.
This comes at a time when the company is introducing four new products that offers customers loads of airtime and data capacity for peanuts.
Recently Glo closed down a number of customer service shops and also decommissioned some cell sites in parts of the country, fueling rumors that it was gradually packing out of Ghana.
But Head of Activations at Glo Ghana, Ofosu Agyekum told Adom News "it is true we closed some shops and decommissioned some cell sites but all that were part of strategies to position ourselves well to serve our customers better."
He said Glo is gearing up to open new shops at more strategic locations in place of the ones closed down, adding the the decommissioned sites were not coverage sites, but density sites, so the coverage is still strong and wide as always.
"We will not be launching four new products if our coverage was not good enough - so our customers should get ready for the excitement they are about to witness on our network going forward," he said.
Speaking of the new products, the company launched what it called Three Minutes to Free, Twin Bash, Weekend Browsing and Night Browsing, all of which give value for money but have their own unique restrictions.
Three Minutes To Free allows subscribers to make voice calls free to all Glo lines for the rest of the day after paying for the first three minutes of calls.
Twin Bash, available on *127*RECHARGE PIN#, gives subscribers six times the value of their data recharges, so a subscriber who recharges with GHc1 for instance will get 80MB data for free, plus 25MB to give away to any Glo customer of one's choice.
The other benefits include a 200 percent data bundle, a 100 percent bonus airtime that can be used to make calls to any number in Ghana, and another 300 percent bonus to call 10 Glo Family & Friends numbers.
For the Weekend Browsing pack, subscribers are required to pay GHC8 to enjoy 3GB of data between Friday 11pm and 6:00am on Monday. The user will also enjoy the offer from 11PM till 6:00AM on weekdays. The pack is valid for seven days. To activate, a subscriber is expected to dial *127*21# or send 141 as sms to 127.
The fourth product is another data offer named the Night Browsing pack which enables subscribers to enjoy 500MB browsing each night from 11pm to 6am with only GHc 1. To activate this product, a customer is expected to dial *127*20# or send 114 as sms to 127.
Head of Business at Glo Ghana, Augustine Mamuro, the Head of Business at Glo Mobile, Ghana said the four new products were rolled out to give subscribers unmatchable value for money on the Glo Mobile network.
He said Glo Mobile is investing enormous resources on network upgrade to guarantee significant improvement in the quality of voice and data service.
Mamuro called on the people to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the new products to make calls and enjoy data services on the network at very reasonable cost.
