Deputy Communications Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has revealed that the Danquah Institute and a shipping company invited the three South Africans ex-cops to Ghana and not Captain (rtd) Edmund Koda and Captain (rtd) Acquah as reported.
"One of three people was invited by a shipping company, another two were invited by the Danquah Institute," said Mr. Ofosu.
He said the two retired captains do not operate security companies as the laws of Ghana does not allow them to invite people to come to Ghana to undertake such a training.
According to him, Captain Koda admitted to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) that he picked them up from the airport and the three men indicated on their disembarkation forms that they will be staying at the Alisa and Movenpick Hotels.
"I don't know if the visa application forms allow for one to indicate other businesses, but that can easily be verified. They were found at Agona Duakwa in El-Capitano hotel," said Mr. Ofosu.
According to him, the BNI was not at fault for picking them up and that the New Patriotic Party (NPP)'s contradictory accounts and many falsehoods suggest significant levels of complexities.
Mr. Ofosu was baffled about the idea behind the party's motivation to invent the gathering at the flagbearers house is under an imminent raid.
