Ghana has maintained its position of 114 out of 139 countries on the World Economic Forum Global competitiveness Report for 2010/2011.
The country scored an overall 3.6 out of the maximum 7 points as against 3.4 last year.
In 2009/2010, Ghana ranked 114 out of 133 countries. Joy Business earlier this week reported that Ghana has dropped by four places in the latest Global Competitiveness Index on the basis of a raw rankings table obtained from the World Economic Forum.
But the detailed report indicates that the country maintained its rank as the 114TH country even though the list of countries has now been extended to 139.
The country gained .02 points to maintain its position. The report also revealed that Ghana made some strong gains in governance indicators, including infrastructure, ports, as well as a developed financial market.
Ghana however continues to lag in the area of education.
