Public sector workers could soon be paid through E-Zwich smart card.The operators of the platform and the biometric card, the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS) says it is in talks with the controller and Accountant General’s Department for the payment.Archie Hesse, the General Manager in charge of Project and Business Development at GhiPPS told Joy Business every effort was being made for a smooth roll-out of the programme.He said GhiPPS was working to ensure that “nobody when paid on their E-Zwich smart card will find themselves wanting or when they have been paid they will not have either the financial institutions not paying them or not having anywhere to load funds or not having enough delivery channels where they can use their E-Zwich smart cards.”Source: Joy Business/Ghana
