A 55-year-old assemblywoman in the Dulugu Electoral Area in the Bolgatanga, Mrs Gifty Ntaaga, said she would seek re-election in the forthcoming district level election.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview during a programme organised by the International Federation of Women Lawyers at Bolgatanga on Good Governance Training Workshop, the physically challenged woman said she would come out successful because she contested with some men in the last assembly election and won.
Mrs Ntaaga also claimed she had earlier made up her mind not to contest but she had been told to seek re-election by her constituents due to the considerable level of development she had brought to the area.
She said she was the first assemblyperson in the area to bring micro credit schemes to the area.
She mentioned some of the schemes as MASLOC, Builsa Community Bank, Mata Tudu and SINAPI ABA, which according to her enabled them to undertake many viable business ventures.
