People who hold the opinion that the United Front Party (UFP) might not stand the test of time because it cannot successfully source funding to finance its activities may have to change their position. This is because the Chairman of the Kumasi based political party, Kwasi Addae aka 'Odike' has categorically stated that the party will have no difficulty whatsoever raising funds. Speaking in an interview with Daily Guide, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Odike Ventures said it will have enough resources to fund its activities because God is the UFP's financier. "When I hear people say we cannot survive because funding will be a problem for us, I get irritated because such people do not know that God is our financier," he noted. According to him, as long as God continues to live, the party will forever succeed in its attempts to raise the needed funds to compete with the bigger political parties. He said just like the NPP did a few years back when the country's biggest opposition party sourced funds from individuals on the street, the UFP will do same when the going gets tougher. "We have a solid plan in place to raise funds consistently to finance our activities but when a problem arises, then we will hit the streets to beg for money as the NPP did some time back." Mr. Addae stated. He said for now, the party was swimming in riches and that there were no financial problems because founding fathers of the party and people who believe in its ideals were generously contributing money to finance activities. He indicated he was confident that a lot more wealthy people who share his beliefs will join the UFP so that the party can have adequate funds to champion its cause. The CEO of Odike Ventures maintained that the party was growing from strength to strength adding that it currently has over 500,000 supporters across the country. He pointed out that the party hopes to more than double its membership before the end of the year to ensure that its aim of recapturing power in the forthcoming elections was intact. "Oh yes, we can easily get one million supporters across the country by the end of the year because the enthusiasm of the people particularly the youth to join us is incredible," he contended. Disclosing that plans were in place to open regional and constituency offices across the country, the UFP chairman said the party will field parliamentary candidates in all the 230 constituencies during the upcoming parliamentary polls. He noted the party will not only field candidates in all the 230 constituencies in the next elections but will henceforth, contest every bye election. Meanwhile, information reaching Daily Guide indicates that Mr. Addae is currently, touring some European countries to solicit funds to support his party's activities. The UFP chairman who has been away for the past week and is expected to return this week will be visiting Germany, Holland and the UK as part of his fund raising tour, according to our sources. When contacted the UFP Interim General Secretary, Nana Agyenim Boateng aka 'Gyataba' confirmed that the chairman was out of the country but said the trip was purely for business purposes and not party activities.
