Edmund Opoku Appiah died of gunshot wounds and several others got injured on Monday, May 23, following roadblocks and exchange of gunshots between the supporters of Nneantene royal family and the queen mother, Nana Afia Siraa Ababio III.
The disagreement was triggered by the queen mother's attempt to install one Kwabena Owusu Ansah as chief.
An investigation was launched into the circumstances which led to the clashes on Monday.
According to Supt Alhaji Maama Arhin the suspect was arrested with a gun which he used during the clashes.
He said the suspect is currently assisting the police in the investigation and will be prepared for court after the Judicial Service workers resume from strike.
