The NDC Youth Forum has renewed demands for the resignation of the Chief Justice, Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood. The demand was first made by a man who claimed to be a reverend minister shortly after the NDC Chairman launched a damning attack on the judiciary about two months ago.Mrs. Georgina Wood has since called their bluff, describing her accusers as lacking education on how the judiciary works. But just when the issues were dying down, the NDC Youth Forum Tuesday issued a statement demanding the CJ’s resignation. The group said she compromised her position by joining NPP ministers to acquire state lands at ridiculously low prices. The CJ has announced she is no longer interested in the piece of land she acquired from the Lands Commission.“I deem it expedient to relinquish my interest in the land as at now, in view of the persistent public agitation with regard to the said property,” she stated in a correspondence to the Greater Accra Regional Lands Officer. But the group insists that is not enough.Spokesperson of the group, Osman Iddrisu Bonpuori said the CJ only relinquished the parcel after intense pressure was brought to bear on her.He said the Chief Justice should have known that the transaction she entered into was not right.Source: Joy News/Ghana
