Government will continue to pursue its social democratic agenda to enhance the living standard of the people, Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah has said.
He, therefore, warned public officials with intent to sabotage the policies and progress of Government to change their attitude.
Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah said this when he addressed assembly members and heads of departments at Mpraeso in the Kwahu-South District of the Eastern Region as part of a five-day working visit to some districts.
He said Government had used the past one and half years to assess and stabilize the economy and it would now move to provide the needed infrastructure such as roads, railway lines, school blocks, electricity and bore holes to improve the living standards of people.
Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah urged the assemblies to contribute their quotas to enhance the development of the district.
He said the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) would be implemented for all public sector employees.
The assembly members appealed for regular release of the district assembly common fund to the district assemblies to finance development projects.
Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah later inspected class room blocks, small-holder water systems, an ICT center and an electrification project at Kwahu-Praso number “1” and “2”.Source: GNA
