WAFA striker Samuel Tetteh has signed a 4 year deal with Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg.

The speedy attacker leaves the academy side on a high after bagging 5 goals in the first half of the 2016 Ghana league season.

Tetteh enjoyed a superb 2015 where he played for as many as 4 national teams. He began the year with the U-20 team, the Black Satellites, where he helped Ghana place 3rd in the African Youth Championship in Senegal and qualify for the World Cup in New Zealand.

Despite Ghana having a poor World Cup, Tetteh showed his class with an outstanding performance in Ghana’s 4-2 win over Argentina.

Tetteh gained a call up the Black Meteors team who participated in the All African Games in Congo Brazaville as well as the Black Stars B team who were knocked out by Ivory Coast in the CHAN qualifier.

Tetteh’s impressive year was culminated with a call-up to the Black Stars by Avram Grant in November 2015 for Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Comoros. He made a debut cameo and has been part of the Black Stars team ever since.

A statement on the club’s website confirmed the move after he passed a medical last night.

“WAFA SC wish to announce that our striker Samuel Tetteh has signed a four-year contract with Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.The 19-year-old leaves after scoring five goals in the first half of the Ghana Premier League season.
In between that he featured for the Black Stars in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The last Ghanaian to feature for Red Bull Salzburg was David Atanga who was a team mate of Tetteh at the New Zealand World Cup.

Defender Isaac Vorsah also played for Red Bull Salzburg before picking up a severe injury.
