The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress says posters bearing the image of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings does not have her approval.
This is contained in a statement signed by the chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Dr. Kwabena Agyei.
The statement further cautioned that it is illegal for any member of the Party to prematurely give an impression of his or her interest in the flagbearership race for the 2012 elections as the party’s rules clearly indicate that this declaration should not come earlier than one full year to the General Elections when the Party is in power.
The FEC is therefore warning individuals and groups to desist from making such declarations that will cause disaffection for the NDC or offenders will face the full wrath of the party’s sanctions.
The FEC is also calling on the security agencies to assist in identifying the faceless people behind all the noise on the posters so as to put a stop to the indiscipline going on. The media is also being advised to avoid making commentaries that may hurt the fortunes of the NDC.
