The Andani Royal family has said it will go ahead with the implementation of the roadmap for peace agreed by the committee of eminent chiefs without further delay.
It follows the announcement yesterday by the rival Abudu family to withdraw from the peace talks.
The Abudus said they had lost faith in Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to mediate in the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis and will no longer participate.
The Andanis have described the Abudus’ action as a betrayal.
Its Spokesperson, Lawyer Ibrahim Mahama said the withdrawal from the process paves the way for the Andanis to complete the roadmap and install a new overlord for Dagbon.
He said the process can go on without the Abudus because the eminent chiefs have all the evidence they need to reach a conclusion.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the West African Network for Peace Building, Emmanuel Bombande, said influential persons must step in to forestall any eventuality.
He said it was unreasonable to expect to have an implementable agreement while the two factions remain hostile to each other.
