A teenage trader has been jailed 120 months by a Kumasi Circuit Court, for stealing three cell phones, a car tape and booster.
Tofik Moro, 18, pleaded guilty to the offence.
Police Chief Inspector Comfort Baffour-Kyei told the Court, presided over by Mr Justice Emmanuel Amoh-Yartey that, the complainant, Sampson Obeng Tawiah, is a Sales Supervisor of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and lives at Ahinsan in Kumasi.
On August 1, at about 0210 hours, a co-tenant of Tawiah, who had come out of his room to urinate, spotted Moro and another person jumping over the fence wall of the house.
He raised the alarm and was joined by other people in the house, and after a hot chase, they managed to arrest Moro but his accomplice escaped.
A search on him uncovered three cell phones, all valued at about GH¢125.00.
The prosecution said Tawiah also noticed that his Mercedes Benz Saloon car, parked in the house had been burgled and the tape with its booster, had been removed.
Police Chief Inspector Baffour-Kyei said Moro was handed over to the police and that, the owners of the stolen phones had been identified and the phones given back to them.
The convict mentioned one Kofi Adwuo as his accomplice but refused to help the police to arrest him.
