Alfred Nana Afedzi, who posed as a National Security operative and attempted to handcuff some municipal guards on November 09, had been remanded in police custody.
The Western Regional Police Commander, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Alhaji Hamidu Mahama, told journalists that the suspect was found to be impersonating after police investigation.
The Regional Police Commander said the suspect would be put before the court for impersonation and assault.
The suspect, who was driving a saloon car in Tarkwa on November 9, overtook a number of vehicles leading to obstruction of traffic.
The suspect, who was in mufti, became offended when questioned by the municipal guards on duty and hit them on the head and attempted to arrest them.
A police officer who was passing by intervened and took Afedzi and the guards to the Tarkwa Divisional Command.
