The Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Samia Nkrumah has declared her intention to contest the chairmanship of the Conventions Peoples Party.
She said she wants to be chairman of the party in order to unify all Nkrumaists under one banner to contest the 2012 general elections.
The Jomoro MP made the declaration at a regional forum organized in Wa in the Upper West Region.
According to correspondent, Rafiq Salam, Samia Nrkumah reminded the gathering that the CPP commanded a lot of respect and following from Ghanaians.
She however maintained the Nkrumaist tradition will continue to wallow in the political wilderness of they remain fractured.
If she’s successful, Samia Nkrumah would become the first female chair of a major political party.
