The local derby between Sekondi Eleven wise and Sekondi Hasaacas will be the most anticipated game in the preliminary round of the re-introduced FA Cup sponsored by MTN.
The competition which returns after almost a decade off the sports calendar was launched in Accra on Friday and former GFA boss Alhaji M.N.D. Jawula, who is Chairman of the FA Cup Committee says he is excited at the return of the competition.
He told Joy News the FA Cup produced exciting footwork because “there is no question of fixed matches, deliberate poor officiating, these are matches that are keenly watched and keenly analysed by the spectators and by the populace at large.”
The competition will start on December 15. The last time the tournament was played in 2001, Asante Kotoko were 1-0 victors over King Faisal.
