President Mills has declared 2011 as a year of action. He says it will be the year Ghanaians will witness the execution and implementation of most of the promises his government has made to Ghanaians.
President Mills was addressing a delegation from China led by the Mr. Fan Bing, Managing Director of Standard Bank, the biggest bank in the world.
Mr Bing said the delegation had had fruitful deliberations with rail and road authorities in the country, as well as the Finance Ministry so “that have improved our term sheet we offered in October so hopefully now we have reached a good agreement.”
He said the delegation had the blessing of the bank’s headquarters to sign the agreement.
President Mills promised the cooperation of the government and people of Ghana.
“Time is not on our side and we want the year 2011 to be a year of action. Our people are very expectant and justifiably so because we have made them aware of the generosity of our brothers and sisters from China. They know that there are a lot of things in the pipeline and they are itching to see what is going to be on the ground.”
He urged the team to fast-track the process of implementing whatever agreements that have been reached.
