The Chief Executive Officer of Kpando Heart of Lions, Desmond Frimpong Manso popularly known as “Cockroach”, has declared his support for Goran Stevanovic to succeed Milovan Rajevac as the head coach of the Black Stars.
According to him, Stevanovic also a Serbian, stands tall among the list of coaches shortlisted for the job and believes he can continue the good work from where his countryman Milovan left Ghana.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s sports morning show, Mr. Frimpong Manso recounted the achievements of Stevanovic and compared him to the other shortlisted coaches concluding that, Stevanovic’s CV is impressive for the job.
He noted that expatriate coaches have always ensured massive discipline in the Black Stars and cited Sulley Muntari’s issue with Milovan as one that only a white coach can be bold to axe players of Sulley’s caliber.
The Heart of Lions CEO cautioned that the search committee of the GFA should be vigilant and take a good look at Goran Stevanovic because he strongly believes he is the only person Ghana needs now to qualify to the Cup of Nations and the World Cup in 2014.
The five coaches now have been reduced to four after the search committee axed Can Vanli since he doesn’t meet the job requirements. The four left for the job are Goran Stevanovic, Humberto Cuelho, Hebert Addo and Marcel Desailly.
