Members of the UK and Ireland Chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have expressed deep sadness and shock at the news of the death of Squadron Leader Clend Sowu (Rtd), founding member of the party.
A statement issued by Prince Kassim Alunbankudi described the death of Squadron Leader Sowu as "very devastating."
"Squadron Leader Clend Sowu was a distinguished statesman who played a prominent role in the founding of the most formidable modern social democratic party in Ghana, and he was widely admired by members of the NDC UK and Ireland Chapter as a political leader dedicated to advancing the egalitarian principles of the NDC, upholding our party's ideals of unity, stability and development for Ghana.
"The secretariat of the NDC UK and Ireland Chapter on behalf of the Executive Committee and members… wish to express our deepest condolences to the family of the late Squadron Leader Clend Sowu. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sowu family," the statement said.
