Former Hearts of Oak defender Sani Wahab has expressed discontent about how the Rainbow family has left him in the wilderness following an injury he picked at training.
According to the intelligent defender who spoke on Happy FM’s “Where are they?” programme his recent trip to Koforidua to seek medical treatment did not yield the desired results owing to lack of facilities at the hospital.
“The Spanish doctors at the Koforidua hospital told me that my situation calls for treatment abroad owing to the insufficient equipment at the hospital.”
He disclosed that he failed to raise funds required for the surgery abroad and has since been left to his fate. He said he was rather told that the injury would heal on its own.
Sanni noted that the entire Phobian family has deserted him, but he said that the club’s former chief executive officer, Harry Zakkour is the only Phobian who calls on him from time to time.
Sani pointed out that he is compelled to stay at home because of the barrage of questions that greet him when he goes out, explaining his heart ‘bleeds’ when he watches his colleagues play on TV.
The defender who said apart from his injury he was doing quite well joined the many senior players who have expressed worry over the downward trend of the local league.
