Ghana’s Sports Minister Akua Sena Dansua has revealed that some individuals have tried to influence her decisions and making her work difficult.
Her claims come to confirm that there are ”mafias” who have tried to undermine her authority particularly with the Ghana Football Association.
Dansua however failed to disclose their identities and state if they were in government.
This confirms that the shameless and obnoxious characters tried to use her office to replace Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi with football legend Abedi Pele for a Caf post.
A move that backfired and the Ministry was forced to render an apology.
Also, the FA received a directive to pay the US$ 11.1 accrued from progressing to the last eight of the Fifa World Cup finals into the ministry’s account which was hugely contested.
“There are interferences in the work that I do from all quarters. Because I am a woman some think that I should be soft, I should allow them to have their way and I tell them No! I have a responsibility to the people of Ghana and also to government so I must be seen to doing the right things,” Dansua told the press on Tuesday.
The infamous raid by the state’s anti-graft agency, Economic and Organized Crime Office, at the Ghana Football Association secretariat is another.
