Kofi Dokyi Apeatu-Ampaw, a member of the New Patriotic Party has named former president Rawlings as the most agitative foot soldier for the year 2010.According to him, “former president Rawlings is a man who stood for probity, accountability, conscience; he has been very agitative on all these issue”.He urged him not to let anything prevent him from criticising the Mills government, noting that the economic situation in the country has worsened under the Mills leadership.Former President, Flt Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, early this year criticised the Mills-led government for non performance. He was disappointed in President Mills because he failed to jail officials who served under Kufuor government whom he claimed were corrupt. According to him, the failure is a betrayal of the NDC party's agenda which won them the election.Mr. Rawlings is also quoted in the media as saying he does not know the message of hope to deliver to Ghanaians in the 2012 elections because of the inability of the NDC government to deliver on its campaign promises.Commenting on activities of foot soldiers early this year on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme, Kofi 1234 noted that former president Rawlings should continue to pursue his agenda of criticising the government because the NDC youth who are inspired by his advocacy have their grievances unaddressed.He added that the foot soldier agitation seem to have died down because the government has found a cosmetic way to calm them down.
