The Western Regional Crime Officer, Mr. James Kofi Abraham, has said one of the ballot boxes containing the ballot papers was snatched at Adjuah electoral area in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region.
He said the attacker was not apprehended because there was power outage at the time of the incident and could not identify the person.
Mr. Abraham told the GNA by telephone that the incident would not have any influence on the election results since the results had been collated and written down by the presiding officer.
The Regional Crime Officer noted that, the district level elections had been generally peaceful in the region except that isolated incident in the Ahanta West.
Mr Abraham said the election security taskforce would continue providing security at the various polling stations where elections were postponed.
He urged the electorate to exercise restraint in ensuring peace and order at the various electoral areas in the region.
