The Premier League Board plans to intensify security at all league centres ahead of the commencement of the second round of the Glo Premier League this Sunday.
Crowd violence in some matches during the first round resulted in game boycotts. The league organizer is currently in talks with various regional security coordinators, the police and the military to curb violence during matches.
The heads of the Premier League Board, Welbeck Abrah Appiah, said the PLB was liaising with the various regional security committees to provide security at all league centres during matches.
He said confirmation had already been received that there will be adequate security at the Obuasi stadium this Sunday when the league resumes.
In a related development, Kpando Hearts of Lions could face the wrath of the disciplinary committee of the Ghana Football Association because the PLB has received information of crowd violence in their match day 15 league fixture with New Edubiase at the Kpando Park. The former Top 4 Champions lie 11th on the log sheet.
Meanwhile, CEO of the club Frimpong Manso told Joy Sports he is surprised with these developments but believes crowd violence should be totally expelled from Ghana Football.
