Ashanti Regional executives of the National Democratic Congress are demanding the immediate removal of some District Chief Executives in the region.
They claim the DCEs, whose identities they have refused to make public, are underperforming, a situation they say is increasingly dashing the hopes of the party in the region.
The executives insist the popularity and ratings of the NDC in the region is at an all-time low, and the earlier the presidential reshuffle affects the DCEs in the region the better.
Mr Kwaku Boahene, the Regional Youth Organiser of the party told Joy News they have sent a petition to President Mills and are urgently waiting for the president to act on it.
“Some of the DCEs are performing below average and we think that the President comes out to change them publicly.
“They are not performing but we are not going out to pinpoint them; president is aware; chairmen of the various Districts are aware. So we are telling President that he should send a team down to investigate the activities of the DCEs and regional ministers so that those who are not performing up to expectations are moved and replaced by better people,” he said.
He also accused some of the appointees as arrogant.
