The Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong has denied media reports suggesting that, newly appointed Black Stars Coach Goran Stevanovic applied for the Kotoko coaching job but lost to his country-man Bogdan Korak, due to lack of experience.
Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong said on Asempa Sports Morning Show on Tuesday that Kotoko did not make any contacts with coach Stevanovic in their quest to find a replacement for Ebo Mends.
According to Dr. Sarpong, news making rounds that the Kotoko management rejected Goran Stevanovic for Bogdan Korak should be disregarded.
"The four coaches who applied for the the vacant Kotoko job were; Babic Branko-Sosa, Velislav Ivanor Vutsov, Bogdan Korak and Slobodam Santrac and after careful scrutiny, Bogdan Korak was selected as head coach for Kotoko" Dr. Sarpong explained.
Dr. Sarpong believes Bogdan’s performance so far has been good and that he is hopeful things will get better for the club.
The Ghana football association is set to outdoor Goran Stevanovic as the new black stars coach on Wednesday in a press conference.
