Mohammed Gargo may have led RTU to a historic first defeat of Hearts in Accra but is still far away from living his dream of becoming the substantive coach at the Tamale-based club.
Gargo’s fate is hanging in a balance due to divisions in the hierarchy of the Tamale-based club.
While the board of the club is in favour of Turkish-born Telat Uzum, the management is backing Gargo.
Telat Uzum who took over at the start of the season recorded five points out of 11 games compelling the club to go in for Gargo to take temporary responsibility of the club.
The former Black Stars player has done fairly well but the board still wants the Turkish man. Alidu Zambanga, who is a sports broadcaster close to the team, thinks the situation is retarding progress.
He said if the situation is not resolved, the dwindling fortunes of RTU will be accelerated.
And Joy Sports investigations reveal that the board supports Telat Uzum because he is the choice of the club’s sponsor Wienco Fertilizer.
