The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG)’s prestigious Marketing man and woman of the Year 2015 went to personnel of GOIL and Unilever Ghana respectively.

Managing Director of Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), Patrick Kwame Akorli walked home with the coveted Marketing Man of the Year 2015 for his leadership roles which have solidified the position of GOIL as a most reliable brand in the petroleum industry.

He played a key role in the rebranding of the company resulting in the acceptance of the new GOIL with its glaring orange and black colours by customers.

The Marketing Woman of the Year 2015 was conferred on the Managing Director of Unilever Ghana Limited, Elizabeth Arkutu. Through her efforts and effective collaboration with her colleagues at the company many Ghanaians are employed halving the dependability rate on relatives.

The 27th National Marketing Performance Awards held at the State Banquet Hall was anchored on the theme “Democracy and National Cohesion; Marketing a new political paradigm.”

There were 42 awards categories.

Speaking at the ceremony, National President of CIMG, Kojo Mattah charged professionals to bring their experiences to bear as the nation marches into the December polls.

According to him, businesses would be impacted negatively and the marketing profession would suffer some setbacks should the election be marred by violence.

“We have so much of it [war, conflicts] around us in Africa. We should learn from those experiences and decide on the path that leads to tolerance, peace, progress, etc. in which we can all live and practice our professions,” he said, advising politicians to chart a path of honesty and selflessness.

Goil also received the Petroleum Company of the year.

In the banking and non-banking financial organisations category; Ecobank Ghana grabbed for itself the Bank of the Year 2015, Stanbic Bank took the Marketing Oriented Company of the year 2015, and Ideal Finance was adjudged the Emerging Brand of the Year 2015.

The rest were Union Savings and Loans which won the Non-Bank Financial Company of the Year 2015 and Atwiima-Kwanwoma Rural Bank which walked away with the Rural Bank of the Year 2015.

Other winners include: Japan Motors Ghana Limited as Motor Firm of the Year, Ecobank receives Bank of the Year, and Vanguard Insurance got the Insurance Company of the Year.
