Executives of the National Lotto Receivers Union have taken the National Lotteries Authority to court over a recent decision to reduce their commissions. The over 3,500 lotto operators are seeking an injunction from the High Court to restrain the NLA from reviewing the commission from 25 to 20 percent. Some of the lotto receivers last week besieged the offices of the NLA to protest the proposed review. But the NLA has continued to insist that the 20 percent is good enough and that the receivers would make a lot more money when it fully rolls out its plan to raise the stakes. The NLA is meanwhile expected to put in a formal court appearance Wednesday.Source: Joy News/Ghana
