The Volta Regional Police Commander ASP David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin,has lauded the media in the region for their role in combating crime. He said "I have enjoyed the media in this region for the past one-and-half years. You have made crime combat quite simple with your collaboration and I wish it remains this way forever." Mr Ampah-Bennin said this in an interview with the GNA following reports of his transfer to the National Headquarters. Mr Ampah-Bennin, who is a Reverend Minister and a journalist, said the media helped the Regional Command achieve its target of reducing crime "drastically" in the region. "Our main targets were to reduce highway robberies, armed robberies, defilements and rape which I'm happy to state that we have achieved largely," he said. "Some of you were there for us anytime we called. You went on swoops and road traffic checks with us and gave us useful information," Mr Ampah-Bennin said. He described the region as "very peaceful" and urged the media to remain circumspect and collaborate with security agencies for mutual benefit. Source: GNA
