World Cup Qualifier
Egypt vs Ghana
Venue: Borg Al- Arab Stadium
Kick-Off: 16:00 GMT
If there is one name that is causing trepidation ahead of the clash against, then it is Mohammed Salah.
The AS Roma winger is seen as a real thorn in Ghana’s flesh as his pace and trickery can undo the Ghana defence.
He bagged a goal and an assist in Brazzaville as the Pharaohs came from behind to beat Congo and he announced his preparedness for the Ghana tie with a hat-trick just before the international break.
Ghana faced him three years ago as we trounced Egypt en route to Brazil but Mo Salah is definitely a more rounded, mature and efficient player.
Despite this, Black Stars midfielder, Agyeman Badu is urging Ghanaians to focus on the collective strength of the Egyptians rather than singling out Mo Salah whom he plays with in the same league/
“Everyone is saying Salah!Salah!Salah! but I don’t think he is the only player for Egypt, they also have other players,” he said.
“He is a good player but we equally have good defenders who can match up with him. We all play in Italy and most of our players know him.”
“I don’t think is will be a threat to us because we will also be going out with the aim to win as well. We just have to stay focused and take our chances on the day.”
The game will be one of ten qualifiers played across Africa this weekend for a place in Russia.
