Chief of Staff John Henry Martey Newman has said he is convinced most Ghanaians are a few steps away from being lifted from abject poverty.
He stated the excellent performance and focused leadership of President Mills in two years is an indication that Ghana is poised for great times.
Mr. Martey Newman is among government officials touring the country with President Mills.
Speaking to Joy News Thursday in his first radio interview since becoming the Chief of Staff, Mr. Martey Newman intimated that the kind of transformation Ghana has witnessed in two years nullifies what he says has been the unfair criticism from their opponents.
“I can see this country developing on an annual basis lifting us from the lower middle class to the upper middle class and the people of this country must realize that the President will not turn his back on his people,” he assured.
The Chief of Staff further called on party functionaries to rally behind the government in achieving the NDC’s manifesto promises.
