Kojo Ofosu, a farmer, has appeared before the Kade District Magistrate Court for allegedly having sexual intercourse with his step-daughter.
Ofosu's plea was not taken and he was remanded in prison custody to re-appear on April, 28.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Thompson Salifu told the court that Ofosu was married to the complainant's mother for 11 years until she died about 18 months ago.
He said shortly after the wife's death, Ofosu could not resist the temptation of having sexual relations with his step-daughter.
When the affair leaked, Ofosu left Akyem-Abeam where he was living and went into hiding until April 19 when he sneaked into the village to pack his belongings.
Ofosu was however spotted by the complainant's brother who raised the alarm leading to his arrest.
The prosecutor said the complainant gave birth to a baby girl four months ago.
The court advised ,the police to send a duplicate docket on the case to the Attorney-General's office for advice.
