Eight people died on the spot in a fatal accident involving a 207 benz bus and a cargo truck this morning.
The incident occurred at Buoho on the Kumasi-Techiman road.
The Offinso Divisonal Police Commander, ASP Quansah who confirmed the incident said the injured including two in very critical condition are receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
He told Joy News five of the dead are males whiles the remainder are females.
Explaining the cause of the accident, ASP Quansah said the cargo truck was trying to make a wrongful overtaking but failed and veered off into the lane of the 207 Benz bus resulting in a head-on collision.
“When you look at the impact on the 207 Mercedes Benz bus, it was so mangled from the front to the middle of the bus,” he narrated.
He suspects most of the dead must have been seated in the mangled area of the bus.
