Juabenhene Nana Otuo Siriboe II has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Council of State, Monday.
The Council in a statement said the Omanhene of Ashanti Juaben was chosen to steer affairs of the Council based on his impressive credentials which cut across different fields.
“His vast experience across the years in the fields of business, governance and chieftaincy [were taken into account],” the statement said.
The election of Nana Otuo Siriboe II comes hours after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo sworn in 24 out of the 25 member Council of State in Accra.
The President entreated them to discharge their duties without fear or favour, adding they should desist from telling him what he wants to hear.
He advised them against rubber stamping his actions and policies without thorough analysis and interrogation of the content to ensure they are in the interest of the country.
