The national identification authority is to start mass distribution of national identity cards in July.
Residents of Accra will be the first to start receiving their cards.
The authority says all cards for the Greater Accra Region have been printed and will be issued at all centres beginning with the Okaikoi sub-metro on July 4.
Executive Secretary of the Authority, Dr. William Ahadzi told Joy News the exercise will last a week at each center and will also run concurrently with the mass registration exercise in the Brong Ahafo, Upper East, Upper West and the Northern regions in July.
