A 45-year old woman has been hospitalised after her husband shot her over a misunderstanding over food.
Akua Badu, a resident of Abuakwa near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, suffered the gun wounds during a visit to the husband, Kwasi Amadu, in the Atwima Kwawoma District.
Nhyira News sources say Mr Amadu had turned down a request by the woman to share a bowl of Tuo-Zaafi, a local Ghanaian dish.
Still angered by the events earlier in the day, Amadu later that evening refused to eat supper and ordered her wife of 25 years out of their matrimonial home.
Consequently, Akua Badu spent the night in an uncompleted building not very far from home.

Akua says the next morning, she returned home with the assumption that the petty misunderstanding was over only for a drunk Amadu to reach for a double- barrel gun and shot her twice – once at her right shoulder, another in buttocks.
Madam Badu was rushed to SDA hospital at Dominase where she is currently responding to treatment.
Meanwhile, Mr Amadu is on the run.
Yaw Owusu, a Unit Committee Chairman at Twenease Adwapong where the incident occurred, says the case has been reported to police at Senfi but they are yet to visit the scene of the shooting.
Mr. Yaw Owusu says the members of the community are scared of mounting a search for Amadu because he escaped with the gun.
The Senfwi Police, however, say they are investigating the matter.
