The embattled Ga Mantse, King Tackie Tawiah III, has described the coronation of another chief by one of the factions in the Ga chieftaincy dispute as shameful.
Nii Tackie Adama Latse II was sworn-in as new Ga Mantse on Saturday despite a notice of a Court injunction secured by King Tackie Tawiah.
Spokesperson for the embattled king, Nii Boye Abbey, told Joy News the other faction is aware that they erred in going ahead with the exercise and are resorting to corrective measures.
He however assured that King Tackie Tawiah III will not use violence to resolve the impasse.
“We are not interested in what they are doing; what is important is that we live here in the capital. I believe sincerely that the peace of the capital is paramount to any tribal interest or any clan or family's interest,” he maintained.
Nii Boye Abbey indicated that King Tackie Tawiah will pursue justice “and at the end of the day they [the other faction] will get to know that the powers that be behind them” have no influence on the judiciary.
