The 15 million dollar data breach fine against Kosmos Energy has finally hit the accounts of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).
Joy Business has learnt the funds hit GNPC’s account last Tuesday.
The fine was slapped on Kosmos for a data breach last year regarding the disclosure of confidential GNPC data to third parties.
The payment also covers the fine for Kosmos’ spillage of low toxicity mud into the sea.
The actual amount deposited however came to a little less than 15 million dollars after some charges and deductions.
The funds will later be transferred to government’s accounts.
