The Eastern Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kwabena Gyamera-Yeboah, has advised police personnel in the region to guard against acts likely to tarnish the image of the service.
He said the Police Administration would not spare any personnel who flouts the rules and regulations of the service.
ACP Gyamera-Yeboah urged the police to treat their civilian counterparts with respect to win their confidence.
The Regional Commander gave the advice when he addressed 260 police personnel who took part in endurance walk on Saturday.
ACP Gyamera-Yeboah said when he took over as the regional commander, he realised that some of the police officers were not doing fitness exercises, therefore, as part of his goals he instituted an endurance walk for the personnel every two weeks.
He said the task ahead for the Police was challenging and it would need such periodic exercises to enable personnel to stand on their feet and live up to expectation.
The regional Police Commander said his outfit had put a lot of measures in place to reduce crime in the region and commended personnel for working hard to reduce crime rate.
ACP Gyamera-Yeboah said although the crime rate had reduced, they would not relent in their efforts to bring it further down and appealed to the citizenry to collaborate with the Police to provide any information about all suspected criminals in their hideouts for them to take the necessary actions.
