The Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffour has given the assurance the supplementary budget will reveal some bold steps taken to improve governments fiscal position.
The finance minister will today table before parliament a supplementary budget to seek approval for additional spending for additional revenues that has come in.
The budget will also give the true standing of the economy for 2010 and this year.
This is because this year’s budget was based on estimates.
The ministry has revealed that the additional spending will be directed to infrastructure and social intervention programs.
Dr. Dufuor told Joy Business the budget will also show that government has made some great improvement in living within its means.
Government in the 2011 budget planned to spend almost 13 billion Ghana cedis for various development programme. It is believed the figure could go up with the supplementary budget yet to be read.
