A farmer is reported to have been repeatedly been shot and left for dead by a Fulani herdsman at Abrewampong, near Agogo in the Asante Akyem North District of Ashanti.
The incident occurred yesterday when the victim went to his farm.
A resident, Kingsley Obeng told Luv News the wounded man managed to call for help on his mobile after the assailant had left him at the spot thinking he was dead.
The witness told Luv FM’s Kwabena Ampratwum a combined team of police and military officers picked the victim to the Agogo hospital where he is receiving treatment.
Agogo Divisional Police Commander, DSP Nana Yawson, will not confirm or deny the report because he said he was in a meeting.
The incident comes barely two weeks after another person was killed in similar fashion, prompting deployment of soldiers to the area.
