It has emerged that there have been two accidents on the Volta lake in just one week.
Joy News has learnt that apart from the Kete Krachie boat disaster which has reportedly claimed about twenty lives, another boat earlier capsized around Salaga in the Northern Region killing thirteen people.
So far thirty two bodies have been recovered in the two accidents and officials are still searching for more.
Head of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Kofi Portorphy told Joy News some pilots are now assisting to recover all the bodies in the two accidents.
He said the lack of some essential equipment is hampering the rescue effort.
Meanwhile the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister Kojo Nyamekye Marfo is expected to lead members of the District Security Council to the Krachie accident scene on Friday.
District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sene Dominic Napare who disclosed this to Joy News rejected suggestions that government has been slow in responding to the boat disaster.
Meanwhile, the DCE for Nadowli, Abu Kabienbata Kansangata is warning of a major disaster if residents along the Black Volta refuse to relocate.
He said structures in low lying areas and farms close to the river banks could be washed away.
Over two thousand people are likely to be affected but despite several sensitizations carried out in the communities, residents are still adamant.
