Six people have been confirmed killed in an accident involving three vehicles on the Accra-Aflao road Tuesday morning.
Many others sustained various degrees of injury in the accident which occurred at about 5am Tuesday.
An eyewitness, Prince, earlier told Joy FM all the passengers of an Urvan bus involved in the accident perished.
But Superintendent Daniel Ansong of the Tema Motor Traffic and Transport Unit of the Ghana Police Service disagreed.
Explaining the cause of the accident to sit-in host of Joy FM's Super Morning Show, Bernard Nasara Shaibu, the police officer said the accident was caused by an abandoned articulated truck left in the middle of the road at a place called Dawa.
He said a 207 Bus carrying passengers from Mepe in the Volta Region, an Urvan bus and a cargo truck crashed as they tried to avoid the abandoned vehicle, resulting in the accident.
