The Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central (RRC) has embarked on a sponsored walk through some principal streets of Accra to raise funds towards their community projects.
The walk dubbed Walk for a Child also aims at raising public awareness of Rotary International’s polio eradication drive.
Members of the club began the walk from British High Commission road, through Osu Oxford street to the Stadium road soliciting support from the public to donate towards their initiative.
Every club member had a minimum of five hundred donation forms for distribution to the public and corporate bodies as a means for the club to meet their GHC50,000 target to support its numerous community projects across the country.
Funds from the walk would go towards the completion of a school project in the village of Asempaneye in the Eastern Region of Ghana, rehabilitation of some facilities at the Maamobi Hospital and a free medical outreach for children in Maamobi, a suburb of Accra.
